On Ramanujan and personal reminiscences by M. S. Raghunathan

As part of the National Mathematics Day, we (Gonit Sora, Gyanome and Sciensation Media) organised a series of talks by eminent mathematicians. The first two have been posted here.

Professor M. S. Raghunathan is currently the Head of the National Centre for Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. Formerly, he was a professor of eminence at TIFR in Homi Bhabha Chair. He is a leading expert in the Theory of Lie groups and has won international recognition for his pioneering research in this area.

Raghunathan is one of the few Indian mathematicians to be elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of London. He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar prize for his contributions to mathematics. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards.
