NEET Examination
NEET stands for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. It is an entrance examination for all the medical aspirants. The examination is for students who want to do graduation or post-graduation in medical or dental courses. A student can get admission in government or private medical or dental colleges in India.
A student needs to solve the multiple choice questions from biology, physics, and chemistry. The mode of examination is offline i.e., pen and paper. Negative marking will be there too. The total marks for the NEET examination are 720. A student needs to solve the biology paper for 360 marks. The total marks for chemistry and physics are 180 each.
The release of NEET answer key
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) releases the NEET answer key. The NEET answer key is available on the official website. A candidate can check for the answer key so as to match his/her responses. Also, the candidates can calculate their marks. The candidate can add four marks for each correct response. Negative marking of one mark needs to be deducted from the total earned points for each wrong response.

Challenge the NEET answer key
The NEET answer key is available on the CBSE NEET official website. The candidate can use their Registration No. and Password on NEET official website to access the answer key. Along with the NEET answer key, the images of OMR and Responses to the questions marked by the candidate are also available. Sometimes, it may happen that the authority provides an incorrect response or option. It can be by mistake or any other reason. A candidate who finds that out can object for the same. CBSE provides a candidate the chance to object the answer key.
A Candidate who wants to challenge the NEET answer key has to pay Rs. 1000 per answer. This amount is non-refundable. One can challenge the answer key within two days of the release of the answer key. In case the challenge is accepted, CBSE will release the updated NEET answer key with the correct answer(s).
How to Challenge the NEET answer key
Below are the steps to challenge the NEET answer key
- Go to the official CBSE NEET website.
- Click on the link to challenge the answer key.
- A redirected screen to the candidate’s login portal will appear.
- Log in with User ID and password.
- Click on key challenge option to challenge the NEET answer key.
- Select the Test Booklet Code. (It is same as the question paper code.)
- Select the question(s) which you want to challenge.
- Choose the correct answer(s). A candidate can also provide an explanation for the chosen answer.
- Click on Confirm.
- Make the payment of Rs. 1000 for each response.
- The screen for payment confirmation will appear.
- Take the print out of the confirmation of the payment.
Conclusion
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the gateway to a lot of medical aspirants. One, who wants to study in one of the top medical or dental, gives this entrance examination. There are a total of 180 questions. A candidate needs to secure at least 40% of the total marks to get selected in the examination.
After the examination, CBSE releases the NEET answer key. From this answer key, one can calculate the total earned points. A candidate can match his/her response with the released answer key. If a candidate feels that there is some error in the released answer key, he/she can challenge it.
