Scholastic Test of Excellence in Mathematical Sciences (S.T.E.M.S.), by Tessellate — the CMI College Fest

The students of Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) are organising an online contest Scholastic Test of Excellence in Mathematical Sciences (S.T.E.M.S.) as part of their college fest Tessellate. The test will be in three disciplines – mathematics, physics and computer science.

The event will be held for students in two sections : Section A is for students from 8th to 12th grade. Section B is for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. The computer science and physics exams will be held on the 13th of January and the mathematics exam on 14th of January. Students are allowed to use books and electronic resources to solve the problems. However, the solutions must be strictly original. There might also be an interview after the test.

The exceptional performers in the online exam will be selected for a three day interactive camp at CMI. It will be held after Tessellate (2nd – 4th February). The camp will feature some of the best mathematicians, physicists and computer scientists from some of the best research institutes in India.
